Senior Building Surveyor

Total Remuneration Package: $196,000 (Senior Executive Officer)

Randstad is on the lookout for a Senior Building Surveyor to join a long-standing Local Government client of ours based in Melbourne.

This is a high-level Executive Officer position within a dedicated Development Assessment team. Working under a direct instrument of delegation from the Municipal Building Surveyor (MBS), you will play a critical role in ensuring community safety and legislative compliance across the municipality.

The role:

• Statutory Authority: Exercise powers and functions of the MBS under a formal instrument of delegation.
• Enforcement: Prepare and issue building notices, orders, and directions, provide expert witness evidence at the Building Appeals Board (BAB) or in Court.
• Field Work: Conduct onsite inspections and investigations to determine compliance with Victorian building legislation and codes.
• Technical Consulting: Advise on performance-based designs, alternative solutions, and complex legislative matters.

• BPC Registration: Registration as a Building Surveyor - Unlimited (BS-U) with the Victorian Building Authority

• Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of the Building Act 1993, Building Regulations, and NCC.
